This guide will show you two easy methods to install maps on your Android device — using .mcworld files and .zip or .rar formats.

How To Install Map on Minecraft PE

📦 Method 1: Installing Maps in .MCWORLD Format

The .mcworld format is the official map format for Minecraft Pocket Edition. These are pre-packaged files that the game can recognize and open directly — no manual unzipping required.

🔧 Recommended tool: Install a free file manager app like File Manager from Google Play for easier navigation.

✅ Steps:

  1. Download a map in .mcworld format from a trusted source.
  2. Open your File Manager app and go to the Downloads folder.
  3. Tap the downloaded .mcworld file.
  4. Your device will automatically open it in Minecraft PE and begin importing the map.
  5. Once completed, the new map will appear in your Worlds list.

 Trouble Opening the .MCWORLD File?

If tapping the .mcworld file doesn’t work on your device, there’s a workaround:

  1. Open File Manager and locate the .mcworld file.
